Q. Tell me about your Sizzix dies!
A. I have recently licensed with Ellison/Sizzix to create pop-up die designs for use with their Big Shot die cutting machines. Check your local scrapbook store for availability or visit the Sizzix website.
Q. I live in <insert remote state/country> and would love to take one of your classes but you do not seem to be coming to my area. *sniff* Can I order a kit and instructions by mail?
A. Perhaps. I sometimes have kits left over from teaching trips.
Q. How do I purchase instructions and templates?
A. YouContact me and tell me what you want. I quote you a price ($10-$20 per class depending on the templates involved) and if you agree, I send you a PayPal invoice. Once you've paid, I send you everything via e-mail in easy-to-print PDF file format.
Q. I bought a Home Construction project and I'm a little confused about something. Can you help?
A. ABSOLUTELY! I strive for happy home constructors. It's the only way this program will work. Contact me and I'll do all that I can to answer your questions and ensure that you are successful, satisfied, and out there showing off your finished project to impressed friends and family as soon as possible!
Q. I am a student who took one of your classes or bought instructions. Can I copy the
handout and templates for my friends?
A. I'd really rather you didn't. The instructions and templates are for your own personal
use, to make future projects for yourself or projects to give away as gifts. The templates/instructions are not to be used commercially,
they are not to be sold, they are definitely not to be posted on the Internet, and as for your friends . . . well, you'd be doing
me a huge favor by giving them the link to this website instead! :)
Q. I am a store owner who took a class from you at
a convention and want to re-teach it at my store. Is that allowed?
A. Please contact me and we'll discuss it. My first choice would
be for me to teach the class at your store. I really like your store. It's pretty and smells like chocolate chip cookies! (Or so I
surmise) If we can't work out a way for me to get there, then you must purchase a commercial release for the class from me. The
release is a great value; you'll receive digital versions of the handouts, templates, cut diagrams, and, most importantly, the
limited copyright release that allows you to reproduce everything. Contact me for pricing information.
Q. How do you
come up with these things?
A. Well a lot of these techniques have been around for years - in cards, in toys, in paper engineering
books - I really can't claim to have invented how to fold and engineer paper to do nifty things. That would be like saying
I invented physics or geometry! What I can claim, though, is that all of the templates that I use in my classes are my own
original designs and are copyrighted as such.
Q. I heard that your blog is pretty funny. How do I get there?
A. There
is a direct link button at the top of this page, but here's another one: I am not left-handed
Q. What is your connection
to Rusty Pickle?
A. Lance, the owner of Rusty Pickle, has a similar teaching style and is also an engineer. He likes my interactive elements and we've worked out a deal where he will teach some of my classes. You can find out where he'll be teaching next by visiting his blog: Where in the World is Lance?
