Class Description:
Time goes by; sometimes slowly
and sometimes in a mad rush, but however it passes, it's important to scrapbook the changes. In Now and Then you'll create an
interactive double-page spread documenting a passage of time using photos from "then" and "now". The subject matter is completely
up to you - will you use the layout to compare your dreams as a teenager/young adult to your life today? Will you compare your
children at two times in their lives? How about comparing their childhood to your childhood? Have you recently completed a home project?
Bought a new car? Changed jobs? Any subject with "then" and "now" photos is perfect for this class.
Now let's talk techniques! There are three sections on the project for photos - use the front of each section as either now or then or mix it up! Pull the tabs and watch each section flip open to reveal the comparison photos and journaling inside. Karen will show you how to adapt your page protectors to allow the layout to be used in an album. You'll also receive templates that can be copied over and over for your own personal future projects. Speaking of future projects, your detailed handout will include instructions and supply lists, making it easy for you to re-make the project in any theme or color scheme later. For our class project, we'll use lots of bright and beautiful products from KI Memories, Rusty Pickle, Creative Imaginations, Bazzill Basics and Basic Grey. The color scheme is mostly red, but also includes blue, black, white and green, and can be used for any subject or gender. Products include patterned paper, ribbon, chipboard, brads, magnets, Quickutz dies, cardstock and a fun stamp-with-paint technique. The flip tabs are addictively fun to pull, so we'll allow extra play time!
Supplies you should bring to class are as follows:
Scissors,
Trimmer
Adhesive
Paper piercer or push pin
Pop dots
Scoring tool and ruler
One
pencil with an unused eraser.
All photos can be added later.
