Class Description:
Once you pop . . . you can't
stop! Karen's up to her interactive tricks again, this time with an ingenious double-page layout project with room for over 20 photos!
Unfold the mini-album on the left page to reveal space for several photos and a card for journaling. Now turn your attention to the
right page . . . what is hiding in that petal-fold envelope? What will happen when you unhook one end of the rubber band? POP! A picture
ball, with six sides of photos and decorations, springs to attention! Delight your friends and relatives with this unexpected 3D surprise.
Sweet techniques call for sweet products, and nothing could be sweeter than the Make Life collection from Sweetwater. Your kit
is stuffed full of Make Life patterned papers, a mini-album kit, circle frames, journaling cards and twill, plus beautiful coordinating
cardstock from Bazzill. We'll also include a full sheet of Rusty Pickle alphabet stickers for your titling and captioning pleasure.
But wait - there's more! Your kit also includes tacky tape, rubber bands, brads, pop-dots, jump rings, a color copy of Karen's
project, a detailed instructional handout and take-home copies of the templates for future projects. Impressive!
Now let's be frank - a project like Pocket Pop does not come without effort. You'll have to be prepared to do some precision
work, including a lot of cutting, a lot of scoring, using some strong adhesive that's going to gum up your scissors, and working pretty
intensely for most of the class time. You'll also need to bring these supplies to class:
General Adhesive - your choice,
but avoid tapes with backing sheets (too time consuming). A tape runner is ideal, glue is acceptable.
Glue Dots - or tacky tape -
something strong
Scissors
Old Scissors - bring a pair that can get gummy from the tacky tape in your kit
Paper piercer (or push
pin)
Regular office tape (Scotch, etc.)
Craft knife, cutting mat, ruler
Scoring tool - highly recommend an embossing stylus -
something with a small, precise tip
Trimmer (optional)
Sandpaper, Sanding Block or Emory Board (optional)
Crop-a-Dile (if you have one)
Needle-nosed
pliers (if you have them)
Two pieces of 12x12 cardboard (optional) - your layout is built on cardstock, but for added stability,
you may want to back it with cardboard. Cardboard can be recycled from a box, from a notepad, etc. Feel free to "build" a 12x12 sheet
out of smaller pieces - it won't show.
Photos can be added later, but if you want to bring them to class, here are the sizes
